Coming from Africa to the United States before the war has been a big dramatic change for my family if I was still living in Africa I would have been married with kids.  In my family I am the second oldest in the family. Since my parents moved to the United States we still keep our cultural traditions which is getting married at a younger age , it’s important to me. Being the second born my parents expect much from me .My mom is not really that into the whole young marriage traditional because she rather see me and my sisters graduated from a university before we get married so, when we do go back to our hometown we have something to show our people back home that we didn’t slack off while we were in America, our African ancestor’s expect us here in America to keep the traditional values. My uncle back home he doesn’t want anything else but for us girls, down here in America to have babies .African parents except their kids to become something in life for them to succeed and make them proud and that’s exactly what I am doing right now, showing my family and people back home that I am a changed person who is achieving her goals in life.

The soundtrack is a powerful element to a movie. The use of the right song or instrumental in a scene can  make it or break it. It is not uncommon for film buffs to refer to the soundtrack of a movie as a character in itself. It can contribute even more than some actors. The whole purpose for a sound track is To grab the audience attention. the music expresses how the character is feeling at that time of the movie every character connects their feelings to that one particular song that is being played , but the whole soundtrack to my life is to Define who grace Beda is where I came from moments in my life where I can sit down listen to a certain song which I can relate to , my whole soundtrack talks about who I am today and how far I came still standing strong independent woman without the down talk from people I wouldn't be the person I am today so therefore my soundtrack defines my emotions my feelings and my determination to succeed in life .
After listening to the music that defines me as a person I hope you fully understand how my soundtrack have a big impact on my life .

Ambition -wale

"Ambition is priceless it's something thats in your vains  “ Ambitions and goals  everybody has at least one goal they want to accomplish , this song defines me as a person my strive, dedication to be successfully in life won't give up don't dream your dream and not live by it if  I didn't have motivation probably wouldn't even know where to start to be dedicated to my dreams my ambition is to win everyday and each day my goal is to work as hard as because if you don't go out and do what you want in order to make your dream come to a reality than you must not be happy I am the  full meaning of an ambitious I am the person who wants fulfillment a lot of drive, and motivations self-satisfaction ,has a goal that I would like to achieve Ambition is having an aim and striving for it.. So to be ambitious is to have a purpose for something you want to do .or in other hands like doing .

chris brown -please don't judge me
I believe this song is about being in love with somebody and  knowing you got a past with a long relationship that ended you moved on and  found  somebody new , but knowing you moved on it still wont erase the fact that you just got out of a long ,tough love relationship and  your new partner starts  seeing all these things and  starts to wounder but all you try and do is  tell your partner  is don't judge me based of my past  take you as you are and  let the pass be the pass  and if your partner loves you it shouldn't even matter about the past .

Alicia keys /this girl is on fire

It's about finding your own inner strength and channeling it in a way you've never tried before. To be “on fire” is to allow yourself the freedom to take full control of who you are and how you want to live your life. To live your passion and shine your light  It's that moment you choose to claim your power and be extraordinary I choose the song to show girls out there that you don't need to impress anybody but yourself cause you are yourself

Legends & Legacies

Do African American male wearing hoodies have a big impact on how they get looked at today?
Because of what happen to trayvon martin people look at that situation today in a different aspect the 17 year old boy was wearing a hoodie and got shot a killed because he was wearing a hoodie so therefore he was a “CRIMINAL”  and he was armed with a weapon .”BULLSHIT “right? Knowing that trayvon martin was black and had a hoodie on the guy still fired shots at the little boy
If I was to ask the guy if trayvon was white walking home with a hoodie would you still fire shots?
I personally think that any African American male can walk around with a hoodie and they would be automatically put in that category as a criminal because of what they have on people are so quick to judge but not look past the fact that somebody is wearing a hoodie and he is African American

Junior is question in this picture. “Are you poor?" and instead of him being direct and answer the question he was trying to avoid it because of where junior lives it's consider of the poor side of the town and he is very ashamed.

People in poverty are constantly struggling just to live every day. Sometimes they resort to doing stupid stuff to try and escape the cycle of poverty and they are labeled criminals when their intentions are good. They try to look out for each other and are constantly spit upon. Even as kids, they are usually growing up without parent or in one parent homes, which causes serious psychological issues. Add to that, they can’t afford nice things and because of that, even getting hired for a good paying job can be almost impossible. We always get the sharp end of the stick.

"Why should the color of your skin matter it certainly doesn't define your character or who you are as a person."

The image is one female with different skin tone one is dark skin and the other one light skin whole point of this image is which skin tone is better what we watch on TV today has a big ie judge based of skin tone people all around seem to judge based of the color of your skin and a majority of them all will say being a lighter skin tone is better than being dark skin causing a population of dark skin women to bleach themselves to be a lighter skin tone just to fit in
The whole light skin vs. dark skin irritates me so much the color of your skin is not what makes you beautiful so many other factors come in play .so being a lighter skin tone does not necessarily mean you are automatically attractive same goes for being a darker skin tone it’s just a skin tone big deal you cant define yourself with your skin tone  .

What is your deepest fear?
"And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously giving other people permission to do the same .as we are liberated from our own fear our presence automatically liberates others"
The reason why I choose Akeelah and the bee is because the movie has shown me a lot that I should never give up on something I wanted to do or was thinking of becoming just like akeelah in the movie she didn't give up spelling because thats
something she wanted to do and pushed herself to success towards the end of the movie she wins the spelling bee because of her motivation to success and her dedication she didn't let anything get in her way even her fears
sometimes we need special motivation  sometimes it's hard to keep going I have to remind myself that they are seeing me and my art through new eyes . I have to remind myself .that part of my purpose is giving them the best I have to  try and make a difference today with what you control of your attitude.

In the video "Doll face" Image is very important to this robot every time the TV moves and changes the image she wants to become that image.
In the video it shows me a lot on how far a person is willing to go to change their looks and become something they know they can’t be so in the video it makes a perfect statement how far will you go to change your image because you don’t like the way you look .?

Having a low self-esteem is another way of not having confidence in your own self. In the video the Robot is giving an image and she wants to become that image so she changes her self every time the TV changes the image she moving upwards towards the TV this is a perfect example in the” Real world”. People would go as far as getting plastic surgery changing their skin tone or maybe just changing their entire image just because they aren’t comfortable enough in their own skin because they have self-esteem issues they are not confident with themselves. You should always be happy with your image and how you look no matter what don’t go and change your image just because.

After watching this video does it give you a clear understanding of what I am talking about? How would you look at yourself different? Would you love yourself just the way you are?

In the video by Alan Watt “What if money where No Object ?” He speaks about how a lot of college students that are about to graduate college come to him and speak to him about how they don't know what they want to do in life.
My opinion of the video is that there are a lot of people out there that do stuff that they don’t like instead of setting their goals to something they do, when they get into the field of the job they never imagine having to wake up in the morning because they choose that path to get a job they don't like cause they didn't follow their dream.  If you have a passion in doing something money shouldn't matter because in the long run money will come. Continue to do something you love rather you do something you don't like. If  Money wasn't no object I would be out there doing half of the stuff that I like to do and forget how much I would get paid for it because it's my dream , my passion, and my goal that I been wanting  to accomplish for a long time. In the video he states “what makes you itch? “, “what would you like to do if money wasn't an object? “.People are so quick to go look for jobs that pay a large amount of dollars and they complain when they don't like it. In the video he mentions “why do stuff that you don't like? “ a lot of people and  for myself have passions and goals out there but they let money get in the way and do things they don't like when they love.

The harlem shake

My opinion about this video is that they are taking  what was the Harlem shake before into something that they made up which is highly offensive to the people that knew what the Harlem shake was  and where it originated from  so I  understand why the videos is offensive to the people in Harlem.

In the video the people that created the Harlem shake in their own creative dance style they seem to have came up with a whole new Harlem shake so it shows in the video that they all sit still and then all of the sudden they have customs on and they are doing their version of the Harlem shake and it seems to be like that throughout the whole entire video.
I believe in my assertion because I wouldn’t want anybody to take my dance that I made up into something completely different Now  I understand why the people  in Harlem are angry because a dance that came out like 2 decades ago that they knew was made into something else which I would  be angry and upset  I would feel like our dance wasn’t respected .
I believe that the people that are very into their cultural would be offended If somebody took their dance into something else watching the video it made me feel like in a way the people well African American cultural was being disrespected for example in the video the guys are in customs and some of the are naked wearing nothing but underwear nothing but white guys I would to feel like they have disrespected not only  the African American cultural but they people back in Harlem where the dance originated from the second one is the guys on the wall shaking their butts that’s one thing that really offended me and all I could do was watch .you can’t take somebody idea and change it into your own without giving them credit for their dance they came up with .
Now that you read and watched the viedo what are your thoughts about it .? did you feel like the african american cultral was being disrespected .?what are your thoughts about this viedo .?
